Brazilian Society of Speech Therapy

The Brazilian Society of Speech-Language Pathology consists of groups of speech-language pathologists interested in stimulating, debating and disseminating scientific and professional production in the area, as well as discussing issues related to training in Speech-Language Pathology. Chaired by an expanded executive board composed of Departments, their respective Scientific Committees, and a Teaching Commission, it has the support of an Administrative Council and groups of researchers who recognize the importance of collective work and the mobilization of students and professionals in scientific construction of your area.

In recent years, several specific associations in the field of Speech-Language Pathology have been created, which have had repercussions, on the one hand, in the deepening of research, on the other, in the dispersion and fragmentation of knowledge and collective resources, which is a natural process in the verticalization of the specialty. Therefore, participation in the SBFa, which aims to facilitate the scientific debate between the different specialties of the profession, is extremely important for the empowerment of our profession. This is because the generalist character of the SBFa not only allows members a panoramic follow-up of what is happening in the various areas of their specialties, but also provides exchange between them, broadening the vision in an intra and interdisciplinary perspective.

Finally, it is worth noting that SBFa maintains partnerships with other scientific associations and NGOs seeking to create opportunities and optimize events and actions that contribute to social transformation.
